Full-Stack Web Developer in Ruby-on-Rails, MEAN stack and Javascript looking for positions that can lead me from a junior to senior developer.
As a first generation Iranian-American with extensive experience communicating and leading product sales & network marketing teams, transitioning to a career in web development offers an opportunity to grow intellectually and without prejudice. This experience challenged me with directing a team of high performers to reach their qualitative potential, while maximizing their quantified sales goals. These experiences required rapid growth in my leadership and listening skills, while depending on quick adaptation to changing requirements. My experiences gave me comfort in the uncomfortable; pushing my self to see success, while communicating confidence to each of my team members. Through extensive opportunities with public speaking, face to face marketing, cold calling and continual feedback, I became comfortable with “no”, while persistantly reaching my goals. Combined with extensive experience traveling and meeting new people, I've leveraged listening, awareness and persistence to achieve several of my goals. Now, I seek an opportunity to join a strong team that can lead me to a senior role.
Started my education at Moorpark College studying Medicine to follow my Father's footprints. I soon realized that Medicine was not my passion, and decided to switch my major to business. A year later I decided to pause my education, and pursue business in the real world.
Got involved in the Network Marketing Industry with a Health and Wellness Company called Vemma Nutrition. Developed extensive experience communicating and leading product sales & network marketing teams, and became comfortable with public speaking, face to face marketing, cold calling and feedback. Built my company network to the top 4.82% of the company and had international markets in both across Europe, and South America.
After my time with Network Marketing I wanted to make a shift into the Tech world and build a business focused around an app. I got a team together to build this app, but soon after I realized that the developers on the team weren't as commited as the rest of us. I decided to cut the developers out and realized that the best computer programmer for this project would be me. I took some online classes on programming and realized that this is something that I LOVE, and instantly became passionate about programming.
After sticking my feet into the programming/tech world I decided that the best way to bring my skill level up to speed was to take an web development immersive bootcamp at a school with great reputation of creating rockstar developers. I found the perfect organzation called General Assembly, enrolled myself into GA, and was granted a full-ride scholarship. Spent 12 full weeks focused on the MEAN stack of Javascript programming. Designed and built 5 web applications. Accumlated around 480+ hours of instruction in backend and frontend frameworks, diverse programming languages, libraries and databases.
